Housed in a two-story building that replaced the old bakery in the same location, Boudin's sells the best San Francisco sourdough bread. There's a cafe upstairs and self-guided bakery tours. The adventure started when they began baking sourdough bread in 1849. Since then, Boudin has expanded to include restaurants and bakeries, catalogs and catering, a museum and a marketplace, and more.
Also at the Bistro Boudin at the Wharf, you can enjoy fresh, seasonal dishes that bring you the best of Northern California’s bounty, or drop by for cocktails at the Bistro Bar. Rich wood interiors, a rustic brick oven, sparkling views of the bay and historic Alcatraz , and a friendly staff round out the dining experience. A private dining room is available for special events, with seasonal or customized menus for every occasion.
